About Us

The Smile Education Hub was a small idea formulated by two teachers, discussing teaching, over a curry one Saturday evening. The aim was to make a product that helped teachers grow core key skills in children from a young age, without adding to the busy workload that teachers already have. If we could create a programme that wrapped around the curriculum and was woven into every subject and yet was fun, engaging and easy to follow, we'd be on the right track! The Smile Education Hub now offers this.

Saffi Mant, one of the key founders, is a career driven teacher who is passionate about mental health, well-being and education. She has worked with children of all ages for over 20 years. Saffi has a BSc in Sports Science, a PGCE in Secondary Education and is qualified in Mental Health First Aid and Mentorship. More recently she has worked in Primary School settings as a Head of Department and Welfare Lead. Saffi lives with her husband, Andrew, and her three children. In her spare time, she plays and coaches sport, both of which she has done nationally. She also has a keen interest in neuroscience.

Saffi grew up with a mother that had mental health needs. Learning her mum’s life story, together with her own experience, has motivated Saffi to help others. She is dedicated to raising children’s mental health awareness, which in turn positively impacts their social, emotional and academic development.

Along with her team she has created many tools to help others; Sue has been the driving force for fabulous music to accompany resources, Kathryn is a keen advocate of mental health, a go to advisor and a must have graphic designer, and of course her husband has been crucial in setting the vision offering endless amounts of support, conversing and thought provoking questions and an insight into the theory behind the programme.

The Smile Education Hub was created by teachers for teachers. Between us we have over 60 years of experience in teaching, ranging from 4-year-olds to adult education. We are passionate about keeping education fresh and engaging for all. We love seeing the spark of a child when they finally understand key concepts or that 'wow' moment you get when they achieve something new and challenging.

As educators we are exposed to so many different children all of whom have different talents and needs. Having a scheme that could form an umbrella over education, that could sit in every subject and would help each and every child to succeed in their own individual way was the way forward. A programme that could celebrate differences whilst promoting grit and determination, and be engaging and fun! After thinking long and hard about how to achieve this and 'The Smile Education Hub' was created. The fundamental skills that are focused on work alongside your curriculum, compliment your PSHE scheme and are relevant to the world in which we live.

We are all involved with teachers in one way of another and have a passion to help children become successful, empathetic and independent. We believe that all subjects within the curriculum are important and that The Smile Education Hub can help you embed skills throughout the curriculum, not just as a separate entity.  â€‹We've also made sure it's easy to follow and simple to use, as we know just how busy a day in the life of a teacher can get.

Vision

The vision for The Smile Education Hub is to positively impact children world wide. It's to offer support and practical resources to teachers, parents and carers in how to help children develop emotionally, socially and academically.

With your help we could do this, making a the world a happier, healthier and more balanced place.
